I went to David Cook’s concert in Cabazon, CA (cabazon, where? LOL yeah, that’s my first reaction when he announced the show in January~ xD)
It was a crazy trip with sole purpose of going to a concert. period. Something I don’t normally do since it’s supposed to be A TRIP, which should involve traveling and sightseeing and whatever~ LOL *shakes head*

my friend asked me before, is it easier to be a David Cook fan, compared to being a T&T fan?
I wouldn’t say it’s easier, since it took a lot of working around for me to go to each concert because I don’t know a lot of people in the fandom like many other hardcore fans. I’m amazed how they managed to pull front row/center seats every time. That’s quite impressive!
Anyway, it’s probably more convenient, since I don’t have to take a week long vacation to fly 10 hours to Japan, then took a train all over the place where I don’t really know the language. No, I don’t know Japanese (I tried though LOL).
In the beginning, I told everyone that it’s cheaper to go see David Cook, since it’s really cheaper! Total cost for 3 pairs of concert tickets plus hotel rooms and gas and food and everything is still less than a round trip tickets to Japan! Not to mention, going to Japan usually involves a JR Pass which costs additional ~$300 because I hate wasting time waiting for or riding train, so I normally bite my tongue and buy JRP so I can hop on a shinkansen *spoiled* But after I started flying to DC concerts, I think accumulated costs will eventually surpass my Japan trips, we’ll see ;)
One other thing that really makes it more convenient is the fact that DC had 150+ concerts last year, T&T had none. And I could buy DC tickets online (I passionately hate ticketmaster and stupid captcha though) while JE balloting system is insanely risky for overseas fans to make plan in advance (but it’ll get better once A-san moves to Japan later this year YAY! FC membership, come back to me~)
Anyway, overall, it’s not really easy, and I still didn’t get to go to every single concert I want to since I still have a career to keep lol but it’s fun and it makes me happy, so I don’t really think I can compare the two obsessions because they’re completely different
I still want to go to T&T concert and I’m still waiting for that to happen again! And with A-san’s luck, good seats will also happen! ;)

Yesterday at work was hilarious, we talked about Idol and stuff, then my director came over and did his thing again
director: hey sara, is david cook coming out with an album?
me: *rolls eyes* yes, soooooooon enough, he’s writing!
boss: (to director) ask her what she’ll be doing this weekend!
director: what are you doing this weekend?
me: *grins* i’m going to a concert~
director: david cook?
me: *beams* YES!
director: where?
me: california~
director: california?
me: *nods*
boss, coworker: *laughs*
my director made a face then moved on to tell us a story about nickelback dude buying his wife a drink in Cabo LOL
I really have a fun office!

i’m about to pull a crazy ninja trip. seattle/palm springs/seattle within 28 hours
i’m so excited for this concert (especially for the surprise he’s talking about) since i missed NYE because i was in Thailand, then i missed MWK because it’s a weekday (for crying out loud!) and airfare was too insane. So, Moron-Go, here I come!
if he’s playing his new song, it’ll be the 2nd time I get to hear his song debut! Make Believe 2.0~ :D
btw, in preparation for tomorrow, I read through my DC murders me posts last night and realized I sounded fairly insane (in a good way, I hope lol)

Photoshop mood kicked my butt around midnight.
umm, hello, I still need to sleep even though I don’t have to go to work tomorrow? lol~ (well, actually, today!)
Anyway, I’ve been thinking about this wallpaper for almost 6 months since I went to DC on Star Stage in August 2009. David answered the question regarding the band’s name (that he just announced a few days ago before Yakima show), saying it’s the 45,000th band name they came up with, the other ones were either taken or didn’t work. This name kinda fit with what they want to do right now. He also mentioned U2 and their music after 9/11 – uplifting and kinda epic — an Anthemic. ♥
So, tonight seems to be the perfect opportunity to put some ideas into work!
I toyed with a few textures and templates, made a few rough drafts in photoshop, but in the end, decided to keep it simple instead. I started off with only 5 frames on the right, but couldn’t help adding more as I went through photos I took last year. I actually wanted to filled the entire area with photos, but had to stop myself from doing so, as I definitely need some blank space for icons on my desktop~
btw, bottomline, my simplicity still involved 130+ layers for this wallpaper, lol, crazy!
