a makeshift scrapbook

December 23rd, 2009

Ever since I felt like my handwriting was getting worse, I stopped keeping journal (so my handwriting could get even worse! LOL) I still have a small sketchbook that I carry around with me to jot things -from shopping list to some random thoughts/doodles- down.

Along came David Cook’s concerts this year and I need a place to keep my ticket stubs (they should consider adding a ticket holder (like JE) to the concert goodies…) and some extra photos I printed out. So, I ended up scrapbooking my sketchbook, with a simple rule, only 4 pages per concert. It was actually kinda fun, digging through advertising/junk mail, looking for something to decorate each page. lol

Dreamliner

December 15th, 2009

Historic moment.

The first flight of the new airplane program.

Last time it happened was 777 in 1994. It was so cool to be able to witness this beauty take off.

My team didn’t go to Everett for the event, but we did watch it together in the main conference room. And everyone was cheering loudly when 787 lifted itself off the ground.

Truly amazing.

And to have this first flight on my last day of work for 2009. Icing on the cake. Since I’ll be going on vacation starting 12/16, I was afraid that I wouldn’t get to be a part of this event. So I was totally jumping up and down with joy when they announced last week that 12/15 was the day~

Icky weather couldn’t stop the history!

Both test pilots, Chift Pilot Mike Carriker and First Officer Randy Neville did an amazing job today. And they’re both super hilarious during press conference too! I love how happy they looked when they stepped outside the plane.

After several delays over the past 2 years, we finally made it.

That’s why we’re here

I’m proud to be a part of this company.

So yeah, last working day of 2009. I’m heading off to Thailand tomorrow for almost 4 weeks. Long and painful plane ride, but it’ll be worth it once I reach home.

I wish I could say (or sing): All my bags are packed, I’m ready to go~ ♪

But I couldn’t! Packing till the last minute is my motto, yo! LOL

Alrighty, better take a mini nap for now. A real sleep can be on the plane, I’m an expert at that! :)

I feel slightly off lately.

Well, maybe more than slightly.

My brain is going 17 directions at the same time, it’s really hard to keep my focus.

I also feel disconnected to the world to some degrees. I check my email, twitter, facebook, etc. I make some comments. I read the news. I watch TV. I talk to my friends and family.

But at the same time, I just want to sleep for 5 days straight. I’m exhausted and I partially blame it on allergy pills and the weather. Or whatever.

Fine. I’m totally off.

My upcoming 4-week vacation should fix it though.

Cannot wait.

winter allergy

December 1st, 2009

Two restless nights in a row. I didn’t know Twitter is a carrier for insomnia, tsk tsk, NT~

So, I felt a little off since yesterday afternoon, but didn’t think it would turn into a trip to my doctor’s office.

I went to work this morning, feeling that my lips were kind burning. Applying lip balm made it worse, as peppermint on sensitive skin hurt like a b*tch, don’t try it kids. So I consulted webMD, and most people recommended trying Blistex medicated. oh well. During my 9am meeting, my lips hurt like hell. After the meeting, I shot a quick email to my boss, and made a run to my doctor’s office.

Once my doctor stepped inside the exam room..

dr: what happened to you, your face is all swelling up?
me: o_O” I only felt my lips swelling, like I had a bad case of lip plump
dr: *touches my face and neck* totally swollen
me: o_O”

after some check up and Q&A’s, he told me I had an allergy..

me: in winter time?!
dr: absolutely~

Great, now on top of spring allergy, I have winter allergy too! woohoo~ seems like it’s been building up for a while since I’ve been having dry cough for over a month without other symptom, and today happened to be the lucky breaking point yay!

He told me to go get cetirizine (generic for Zyrtec) and I should get better, if not, come back. I think I’m gonna refer myself to a specialist if that’s the case. lol

When I got back to the office, my boss asked if I needed to go home

me: nah, it’s just an allergy, I’m okay, only my lips are swollen
boss: your lips looks fine
me: but I feel like they’re 3x normal size and it hurts!!
boss: did you eat something weird yesterday?
me: nope
boss: are you allergic to something?
me: grass? spring time?
boss: what about food?
me: not that I’m aware of.. well, actually I’m mentally allergic to cinnamon..
boss: o_O” mentally?
me: yeah, I feel sick when I catch cinnamon scent. My nose is extremely sensitive to it. Technically, I can eat it, but it’ll make me sick

LOL you gotta see the look on his face! and yes, I hate cinnamon with passion. My friend force-fed me Cinnabon a long time ago, and I got really sick from it. After that, cinnamon has become my lifetime enemy. lol

My boss told me to go have it check out so I know what exactly mysterious stuff I have allergic reaction to.

I told him (borrowed from DC) I’m allergic to life, in general. LOL

alright, bed I go *yawns*
