IE6 nightmare!

April 20, 2009 | et cetera |

So, I just realized today that my new layout looked like crap on IE6. Thank Glenda for the nudge! *chu*
You blog stalkers who used IE6 out there, why didn’t you tell me earlier! I can see a bunch of you on my stat page!! xD

Well, everything was screwed because IE6 refused to learn CSS with me, especially this <!– command –> @!)&$(#$^*&#)@!!!! All my hidden CSS stuff was shown!! *screams*

I checked and checked and checked in Safari and Firefox before I switched to this theme, and everything looked just fine, I knew there’s a few different things between the two, but I was okay with those. Duh, totally forgot about lovely IE6.

Anyway, I fixed what I could, the obvious ugliness is gone. Still, my sidebar remained at the bottom of the page for some reasons *headdesks* I’m not gonna spend my entire night and day trying to figure something in alien language out, so…

Dear IE6 users, try Firefox and I swear my blog will look different on your screen! LOL

Go Firefox! Go Safari! XD

Monday means Heroes! “I am Sylar” rocks!!

I ♥ Sylar!  He is such a proof that girls like bad boys! bwahahaa!!

I giggled like a lune when Sylar used his incision power to write I AM SYLAR on his arm. *coughs*Tom Marvolo Riddle’s “I AM LORD VOLDERMORT”*coughs* xD

the side bar appearing at the bottom? i had a similar issue last time and it was becoz i changed the ‘width’ of the main content lol. sometimes i hate all these ‘customization’ of theme. though sometimes it can be fun XD

errmmmm… come to think of it… i’ve never tested my layouts in IE ne. the current one might be screwed up for all i know. still, Firefox and Safari rocks!! XD

You’re welcome, I think?? I hesitated to say anything because I usually think it’s a problem on my side. I mean I think I have IE7 because I get its updates but I’m guessing I must be wrong and actually have IE6. The thing up at the top of my screen tells me it is AT&T Yahoo! Browser…so I have no clue what I have. But I’m not seeing that [end..] thing any more :p

i think it’s something about search form that I don’t know how to fix, as long as I don’t expand the SITE sidebar, it’ll be okay. I tried changing width, changing form size, etc etc, but as soon as I expand SITE, sidebar will go all the way to the bottom again, so I gave up! xD

oooh, if you’ve already updated to IE7, it means that I have problem with the entire IE family! Oops! LOL Actually, it’s not really a surprise because I’m pretty sure the theme developer is definitely a mac user as some minor codes only work on Safari browser. well well, I’m just glad I don’t have to do this for a living or I might be strangling myself to death by now~ XD Yay for no more [endif] thingy too!

I wasn’t quite sure what I had going on because when I have been to some sites there is this “thing” that tells me that I will have a better viewing experience if I upgrade to IE 7. For you, I googled to find out how to see exactly what I DO have on this computer :) I have the AT&T Yahoo Browser with IE 7 version 7.0.5730.13. Apparently, the version I have is the final one.

Just as I was feeling all smug about having this knowledge I saw that IE8 is out for download now. If it is as good as their Vista, I’ll pass :p

*smooches* thanks for finding out about your browser! XD please let me know if you decide to update to IE8 and see weird things on my blog again! LOL

One of my ex-ex-ex-coworkers works in Vista developer team… all I can say is he’s a genius who has a very strange mind, maybe that’s the reason why Vista is so goofy… LOL
